Shui & Tell… Make Your Bed

I guess your mom was right after all... maybe she knew Feng Shui the whole time...

One of my favorite parts of traveling has nothing to do with the destination.

It's coming back to the hotel after a day of exploring. The bed is made. The towels are folded. The room has quietly reset itself while you were away. A deep sigh an exhale you didn’t realize you needed.

A room that has been cared for somehow ends up caring for you…

I've been thinking about that feeling lately, because it's exactly what I hope my own home offers me too.

In Feng Shui, we often talk about "putting your home to bed." Before you turn in for the night, take a few minutes to restore the space. Fluff the pillows. Fold the blanket. Put away the dishes. Straighten the shoes by the door. It isn't about perfection but about leaving your home ready to greet tomorrow.

The morning has its own little ritual.

Making your bed is one of the simplest ways to tell yourself, I'm someone who follows through. It's a quiet promise. A small act of consistency that reminds both you and your home that life has a gentle rhythm.

Does making the bed really matter?

I don't think it's about the bed…

It’s about creating one tiny moment each day where you choose care over chaos.

Where you participate in the energy of your home instead of simply moving through it.

So, if you're reading this from the couch, or maybe still under the covers… this is your gentle nudge.

Walk back into your bedroom.

Say good morning to the room that's been held you all night.

Smooth the sheets.

Fluff the pillows.

Open the curtains.

And tell your home,

"I'm here to help the flow keep flowing."

It's a tiny act.

But often the smallest rituals end up changing the way an entire day feels.

Cheers to welcoming a new day.

Be honest… are you team make the bed or team roll around in a mess because it’s going to get that way anyway?! 😆
