I'm standing in Love Field Airport, watching a cowboy fumble with his belt buckle at security, and I'm thinking: this is it. This is the whole point…

To be truly seen is invaluable.
Have you ever had the chance to just be you? Fully yourself in a group that simply gets you?
It might happen anywhere, but often for women, it happens in the presence of other women. And it is magical!

The Woo Crew Assembles
I just spent the most soul-filling weekend meeting some deeply important people to me IRL. This is the first time I’ve ever met up in person with anyone I had met online first. My kids, of course, gave me a hard time for doing what I warn them not to… but it turned out that they were not AI and were all lovely human beings, just as real as I had anticipated.
Looking into someone’s eyes for the first time, seeing the fully pigmented color of their lipstick, noting the perfume they wear, or seeing the true texture of their hair as it bounces… these things cannot be replicated accurately over screens. There was a moment for each of us, a sigh and an "oh, it's really you."
Our Shui mentor, Amanda Gibby Peters, invited four of us for a weekend celebration for what I like to refer to as the Woo Crew (or Wu Cru… TBD). Each of us had continued working in an advanced group with Amanda, sharing a lot and becoming close. Meeting in person truly solidified our relationship, and it was exquisite.
Coming home, my cup is completely full.
So this is a coven… a group of women supporting each other along our journeys. We chatted, we ate, we cheers-ed, we manifested, and we communed.
We had our own Practical Magic moments, cheering each other on, and holding space. It was a wonderful time to ground back into myself, to ask, “Who am I, and what am I here to do? “ Being with them opened my senses again. I wanted to connect and stay aware of it all…

The Art of Noticing
Much of it came back to connecting… Feeling plugged back in to the world around me again, maybe this is the whole point.
This group helped me remember, and maybe our paths crossing was the nudge, that just seeing the world, truly seeing it, is what we’re actually here for.
Beauty is important. Noticing how beautiful this world is, and how beautiful these humans we’re surrounded by can be.
Stepping beyond the noise and negativity, to realize the gift we are given. To Be.
As I ended my weekend, I rambled this article into my notes app as I walked through the airport. This place felt like an invitation to notice and enjoy the ride.
That morning, I left my lovely room and its wide Texas view and made my way to my Uber pick-up and said one last goodbye to another Woo member. I chatted with my driver, a 60-something woman who also drives 18 wheelers. We approached the airport, driving through the adorable Greenway Parks neighborhood. I was practically pressing my nose to the glass, noticing its story-filled homes.
I walked up to security behind a cowboy who caught my attention. I watched him figuring out he couldn’t bring his Dr Pepper through, then awkwardly realizing he needed to remove his boots, then his belt and buckle, all while trying to get his jeans up. He muttered something about not going to an airport since 9/11. I smiled and waited, telling him I was in no rush.
I love an airport… the true mix of it all… a melting pot to the Nth degree. Watching all the other travelers around me, families with little ones, a young couple whose flight was delayed but still so content to be together, frequent fliers, one time travelers, the nervous, the joyous…
It’s the little things… noticing the life we are living. Not only concerning ourselves with our future paths, but enjoying our every day.
This weekend brought me back to myself. Back into my body.
This is your life… Today is your day. Look up! Take out your headphones. Live… Be here now… Goals and plans are great, but they are nothing if we aren’t enjoying the ride (or the flight in some cases)…
Have you ever had a moment (or a weekend) that brought you back to yourself? I'd love to hear about it.
xo
Abby
