I’ve been working on something fun, but I’m feeling so completely blocked. My mind keeps drifting to every other to-do or could-do… so instead of writing the posts I want to create, I’m writing this.
Lately, I’ve been feeling stuck—caught between who I am, who I want to become, and the comfort, safety, and tranquility of my current life. I want to spread my wings, create boldly, share my voice with the world, and come out on the other side fully myself. But I’m trying to do all of that online, which feels strange to me.
As a Xennial (or maybe an “Oregon Trail Millennial,” as I’ve heard us called), I’ve lived a full life offline—and now also live a life online. I’m someone who’s totally fine leaving my phone untouched for days (just ask my annoyed family and friends), and yet I also fall into the same scrolling traps as everyone else. Sometimes it all feels like… too much. The world, our identities, our timelines—it’s overwhelming.
So today, I’m pausing. Grounding myself. Letting go. I’m crossing off a bunch of unimportant to-dos that have been hogging space in my brain. My mind is spinning with things to express, make, design, and do… so I’m giving myself a break. And yes, that might sound ridiculous coming off a restful vacation—but my head needs clearing.
The only way I know how to do that right now is to put on my coveralls, grab a coffee, and start painting. I’m not a prolific painter by any means, but art clears my mind. No plan. No boundaries. No expectations. Just me and the muses.
So here’s to letting go, having fun, and not overthinking this life. I have so much I want to share. If you’re into travel and bringing the world into your home, you’re going to love what I have coming soon. But for now, I’ll be here—with a paintbrush in hand—making art just for me. Because to me, that’s what art is all about.
